A Monthly Event!
In Harrisburg, we show off our creative flair with 3rd in the Burg, a celebration of the city’s quickly growing arts and cultural scene. Each month, dozens of venues host special events—exhibits, music, theater, comedy, lectures—throughout downtown and Midtown.
Pop into SCC Tattoos during extended hours to get some fresh ink, scope out some artwork or stock up on produce from special guest Lancaster Farm Fresh.
Art Association of Harrisburg will honor outgoing president Carrie Wissler-Thomas with a retrospective exhibition of her works in “A Lyrical Journey.” A reception will be hosted by Martha Brown and Sandy Auxt.
Admission to Susquehanna Art Museum is free from 5-8 p.m. during 3rd in the Burg — see familiar landscapes transformed into masterpieces by Michael Allen in “Presence,” viewable in the Doshi Gallery through July 26.
Founded in 1926, the AAH is a hub of Central PA cultural events. Our galleries in historic Governor Findlay Mansion across from Riverfront Park provide opportunities for regional and nationwide artists. We also offer year-round art classes for all ages and skill levels. Website
The Millworks is a regional destination in Midtown Harrisburg showcasing Central Pennsylvania’s artistic talents and bountiful agriculture. We’re an award-winning restaurant, brewery, events space and much more: our sustainable, hyper-local approach supports local growers and local artists in all we do. Website
Just one block from the Broad Street Market and the Midtown Scholar, Vivi on Verbeke is a warm, inviting studio gallery to visit this month if you want to take some time out from the crowds. Stop in to see her beautiful handmade artwork! Website
